Found in The State 29 June 1939: Jesse Clifton Albergotti, 33, of 300 Waccamaw avenue, died at 6:45 yesterday morning at the Columbia hospital following an appendectomy which was performed Saturday night. Mr. Albergotti, chief designing engineer in the bridge division of the state highway department, was born in Orangeburg, the son of W. G. Albergotti, a Confederate veteran, and Mary Salley Albergotti. He was graduated from Clemson college in 1928. Engaged in civil engineering since his graduation, Mr. Albergotti was considered one of the most promising engineers and designers with the highway department. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Cecil Bofill Albergotti; one son, J. C. Albergotti, Jr.; three brothers, Washington McAlpin Albergotti and William Greer Albergotti of Columbia and Charles Dantzler Albergotti of St. Matthews. Funeral service will be conducted from McCormick's mortuary at 11 o'clock this morning by the Rev. George H. Hodges, pastor of the Shandon Methodist church. The Rev. F. Ray Riddle, pastor of Shandon Presbyterian church, will assist. Interment will be in Elmwood cemetery.
