Albert S. Collins

Albert S. Collins, 65, owner and operator of the Collins Oil Co., died Thursday in a Portland hospital.
A native of San Diego, Calif., Mr. Collins began working for the Union Oil Co. at the age of 18. Over a 31-year period he was employed by the firm as a retail representative, property representative and an area manager.
Transferred to Portland in 1943, he was in charge of retail sales until going into business for himself in 1952.
Mr. Collins was a member of the board of trustees of Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Peninsula Optimists Club and North Portland Rotary Club. He resided at 6453 SW Loop Drive.
Mr. Collins is survived by his wife, Doris Maie; two daughters, Mrs. Lancy Lemay of Dixon, Ill., and Mrs. Charlene Curry of Eugene; his mother, Mrs. Carrie Collins of El Cajon, Calif.; a brother, Robert, of Lakeside, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The family suggests remembrances be in the form of contributions to the University of Oregon Medical School Anatomical Studies Fund.
