Death Claims Long-Time Utah Dentist

Dr. Sidney Squires, 55, 920 Lake St. (740 East), Salt Lake City dentist, died Tuesday in a Salt Lake hospital after surgery.

Born Oct. 15, 1903, to James and Senna Lorntz Squires in Salt Lake City.

Dr. Squires practiced continuously in Salt Lake except during World War II when he served as a lieutenant commander with the U.S. Navy.

He married Mabel Stewart in 1931. She died in June 1952. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Dr. Squires is survived by five brothers and a sister: Kaleb J., Edgar L., Phillip M., all Salt Lake City; Bryan W., San Gabriel, Calif.; Ray, Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. Hayden (Leta) Schettler, Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, noon, at 2350 E. 13th South (1300 South). Friends may call at place of services Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. and prior to services. The family suggests contributions to the LDS Primary Childrens Hospital. Cremation will follow the funeral services.
