Col. Gordon Dies -
Georgia warrior passes away in 77th Year of his age.
Colonel J. C. Gordon, whose name heads the list of Georgia heroes of the civil war inscribed on the Georgia state monument in Chickamauga National Park, died at Chickamauga Sunday in the 77th year of his age.
He commanded the second battalion of the First Georgia regiment in the battle of Chickamauga.
He was an uncle of Congressman Gordon Lee.
