Clay Hardman, 80, of Bloomington, passed away Tuesday (Nov. 14, 2006) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

Clay was born on Nov. 5, 1926, in Bloomington to Clay and Ida Cross Hardman Sr. They preceded him in death. He married Mary Ann Shoemaker on Dec. 30, 1958, at West Twin Grove Church in rural Bloomington. She survives.

Surviving are three daughters, Ann (Tim) Kelly and Amy (Steve) Wall, both of Bloomington, and Linda (Sam) Anderson, Bradenton, Florida; one son, Scott (Pam) Hardman, Cooksville; one sister Mary (Roy) Millikan, Spring Hill, Florida; grandchildren, Tracy (Erik) Esposito, Laura (Tony) Izzo, Kari and Nathan Kelley, Ashley and Matthew Wall, Sarah and Katie Hardman, David Anderson and Kristy (Mike) Hayes; two great-grandchildren; best friend, Joe VanRiper and faithful companion, Mowgli.

Clay was preceded in death by one daughter, Terri Aldridge, and two brothers.

Clay was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, and an avid sports fan who was especially devoted to the St. Louis Cardinals.

Clay was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and devoted friend who will be deeply missed.
