Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 11th, at St. Mary´s Catholic Church in Larchwood, IA, with Fr. Jeff Schleisman as Celebrant. Burial will follow at the Larchwood Cemetery of Larchwood. Roste Funeral Home of Larchwood is in charge of arrangements.
Albert Francis Clercx was born on June 11, 1915, the son of Peter W. and Margaret (Snyders) Clercx. He grew up on a farm southwest of Larchwood and attended St. Mary´s Catholic School. On May 19, 1938, he was united in marriage to Frances A. Jensen at the St. Mary´s Catholic Church Rectory in Larchwood. The couple farmed southwest of Larchwood for fifty years and enjoyed traveling. Albert was a member of St. Mary´s Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge of Sioux Falls. Albert played the Saxophone in a band called The Swingsters and the later years with the Serenaders, playing dance music throughout the Sioux Falls area. Albert loved music.
He is survived by one son, Arlen (wife, Donna) Clercx of Tea, SD; one former daughter-in-law, Sharyn (husband, Rev. Gary) Klatt of Luverne, MN; four grandchildren, Michelle (husband, Cletus) Riedel of Albuquerque, NM, Nathan (wife, Angie) Clercx of Yankton, SD, Justin (wife, Jennifer) Clercx of Elk Point, SD and Chris (wife, Angie) Clercx of Troy, MO; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Elaine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frances; and one son, Ronald; four brothers, Frank, John, Joseph and Greg; and two sisters, Ann Simons and Mary Agnes Kramer.
