Charles Ireland Allensworth, 72, of Louisiana died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016 at the Pike County Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana.
Services for Mr. Allensworth will be held the following day at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Randall Cone officiating.
Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery near Louisiana.
He was born Aug. 25, 1943, in Louisiana, to Russell Reno and Etta Pearl Penrod Allensworth. He was a 1962 graduate of Louisiana High School. As a teenager he worked for Zook's Nook and enjoyed participating in the marching band.
He spent his career working as a hairdresser in St. Louis and Florida.
He lived in Missouri for a short while during the illness of his sister Carol Lee Allensworth Jenkins, and then returned to Florida. In 2008 he relocated to Missouri to be near his mother, Pearl (Paul) King. He spent much time between Louisiana and St. Louis where he had planned to reside
Mr. Allensworth enjoyed walking, city life and the Florida beaches.
Survivors include his brother R. J. (Annice) Allensworth of Bowling Green, brother-in-law Don (Carol Ann) Jenkins of Louisiana,and nieces and nephews including: Christina (Randy) Hays and son Reno, Ricky (Malarie) Allensworth and son Abram, Peggy (Dennis) Griffith and families, Donna (Kenneth) Woods and families, and Bob (Julie) Jenkins and families.
Pallbearers will be: Ricky Allensworth, Randy Hays, Reno Hays, Tim Jenkins, Larry Downs and Charles Love, Jr.
