Greg Davies passed away on August 11, 2016, at approximately 6 am. He passed peacefully, in his sleep. Greg was recovering from pneumonia and lung problems at Park Gardens Rehab & Nursing Center in the Bronx, NY when he left us far too soon. Greg was due to finish his rehab and return to his group home at Parkview Home For Adults, also in the Bronx, NY, in a couple of weeks, but God had other ideas.
Greg valiantly lived with a debilitating mental illness, paranoid delusional schizophrenia, for over 30 years, and was in recovery (NA) for over 25 years. His family finds comfort in the knowledge that he is finally at peace of mind and spirit.
Greg was loving, generous, and had a great sense of humor. He loved sports, playing cards, playing pool, and a good game of chess.
It was common for Greg to check in on his Mom and sister as often as he could to make sure that they were okay. They miss the sound of his voice on the other end of the phone.
When Greg could feel his grasp on reality starting to slip, he would tell those he loved, "See you on the other side."
Yes Greg, we will see you on the other side. Until then, may God bless and keep you.
