Mrs. ANN CATHERINE SMITH, wife of Mr. Samuel L. Smith, residing about 3 miles south of Middletown, died early Saturday morning, April 27, from general debility, in the 68th year of her age. She had been sadly afflicted for some time.
She is survived by her husband, five sons and three daughters: Clarence, Clifford B., Lawson L., Harvey L., Harman R., Mrs. Sallie Smith, Mrs. Annie Ricketts, and Mrs. Alda Main. A brother, Mr. Chas. H. Lighter, of near Middletown; and sister, Mrs. Mary Remsburg, of Middletown, also survive.
She was a member of Christ Reformed church for 49 years and her funeral took place from that edifice on Sunday afternoon. Interment was made in the Lutheran Cemetery. The pallbearers were: Messers. Stanley Shafer, Henry Routzahn, William Seward, Wm. S. Routzahn, Josephus Shafer, John Holter.
