Clyde William Curtis, 86, of Candler, passed away Monday, August 8, 2016. He resided in Candler, N.C. for eleven years. Clyde was born in Black Mountain, N.C. to the late Thomas W. Curtis and Addie Metcalf. He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche; siblings, Charles, James, Leonard, Lois, Melba, and Barbara; and nephew, Charles, Jr.

Clyde had also been a resident of Gerton, N.C. and served for the U.S. Army. For nearly 37 years Clyde was employed by the N.C. Forest Service from 1957 until his retirement in 1992. He worked in District 1 as the Bearwallow Mt. Fire Tower Operator, District Dispatcher and retried as a Forestry Technician I. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Clyde is survived by his spouse of nearly 13 years, Margaret Requa Curtis.
