JONES, RAY D. - age 81, of Maryville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning May 19, 2009 at Colonial Hills, Maryville, TN.∼Ray D. Jones, age 81, of Maryville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning May 19, 2009 at Colonial Hills, Maryville. He was born September 26, 1927 in Blount County. He was the oldest of six children to parents Dock Jones & Viola Mae Key Jones. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and was active with the choir. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and was retired from KUB with 35 years of service. He loved coaching little league football and was an avid crafter and crafted many trains, planes, etc. for children, grandchildren, and nephews. He was dearly loved by all with his outgoing personality and his deep faith in God and love for family and friends. He was preceded in death by: Parents, Dock & Viola Mae Key Jones; Sister, Rev. Charlotte Jones; Brother & Sister-in-law, Don & Carolyn Jones; Brother, Norman Willard Jones; Nephew, Mikle Jones. He is survived by: Wife of 63 years, Evelyn Thurman Jones; Daughter & Son-in-law, Jenny & Jay Johnson; Sons & Daughters-in-law, David & Kathy Jones and Rusty & Teresa Jones; Grandchildren, Andera Jones, Ashley Jones, Jessica Johnson; Grandson, Taylor Jones; Great-Grandson, Stone Davis; Brothers & Sisters-in-law, Gary & Chae Jones of Colorado and Gordon & Joyce Jones of Maryville; Sister-in-law, Sara Jones; Sister & Brother-in-law, Ann & John Pendleton; Brother & Sister-in-law, Fred & Lorrain Thurman of Alcoa; Nieces, Tina, Kim, Denise, and Teresa; Nephews, Bob, Rick, Steven, and Mark.
