Deemston, August 8, 1927—James H Bane, better known in his home community as "Uncle Tony", aged 79 years, died at his home adjoining this borough, last night at 8 o'clock. His death occurred on the farm on which he was born and had spent his entire life.
Mr Bane was born on October 8, 1847 and had followed farming all of his life. He was well known in the community, where he was highly respected. His death was caused by infirmities of his advanced years.
On April 15, 1869 he was united in marriage to Miss Nancy Holmes who survives. This this union 12 children were born, two dying in infancy and a son, William Bane, in 1919. The following children survive:

Marion Bane of West Elizabeth
Mattie Bane of Fredericktown
Emily, wife of D C Johnson of Washington
Minerva, wife of C A Bennett of Charlottesville
Robert Bane of Deemston
Hiram Bane of Carnegie
Florence, wife of Lin Swihart of Marianna
Alice (Granny Litton), wife of Harry Elisha Litton who resides at the home place.
One brother and three sisters also survive as follows:
Mahlon H Bane of Fredericktown
Mrs Isabelle Brown of Fredericktown
Mrs Sarah Moore of Fredericktown
Mrs Celia Rohrer of California
He leaves also 50 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at his late home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The interment will be in the Buckingham Cemetery.
