Morning Sun News Herald - May 8, 1930 - This community was greatly saddened as word went about Sunday morning of the very sudden death of that well-known citizen and business man, Albert H. Zwickey, 57.

Death occurred shortly before nine o'clock from a blood clot on the heart. He had been suffering during the morning from an intense pain in his left arm. The doctor was called and while he was getting ready to administer relief to the patient, death came before aid could be given him.

The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Dr. J.A. Spyker, assisted by Rev. W.J. Giffin. following the sermon a service was conducted by the Masonic Lodge of which deceased was a member. The lodge also had charge of the service at the graveside.

Relatives called here for the funeral were: Mrs. Maria Zwickey and Walter Zwickey of West Branch; John Zwickey of Detroit, Mich.; Ruth Zwickey of Oakdale, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Anders Mathers, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dickinson of Springdale, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Erb of West Liberty; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Chapman of Ft. Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sligh and son Russell, Mr. and Mrs. George Adye, Mrs. Frankie Swank and Vene Crammond of Wapello.

Albert H. Zwickey, a son of Jehoiakim and Maria Zwickey, was born in Canada, June 30, 1873. In 1875 he came with his parents to Springdale, Iowa, where he spent his boyhood and younger manhood. In 1875 he moved to Morning Sun and had since conducted a harness business.

On April 4, 1916, he was united in marriage to Miss Martha Alice Sligh, and theirs was indeed a truly happy and successful marriage. He joined the Presbyterian church in Morning Sun in 1920 and was true to the vows he took before God and the church of his choice, he was also a member of the Masonic fraternity in whose principles he firmly believed. His membership was in Zerah Lodge, A.F. & A.M., Morning Sun, at the time of his death.

The immediate members of his family left to mourn his death are his wife of this city; his aged mother, Mrs. Maria Zwickey of West Branch, Iowa; three brothers, John Zwickey of Detroit, Mich.; George Zwickey of Pierpont, S.Dak., and Walter Zwickey of West Branch; also one sister, Mrs. Mrs. Lena Erb of West Liberty, Iowa.
