Sarah Jane Elizabeth Brown, daughter of William and Sarah Brunnemer, was born September 24, 1841, and died July 27, 1902, aged 60 years, 10 months and 3 days.
Early in life she was married to Eli Brown, and leaves a large family of children, two brothers and one sister, with many relatives and friends. Her life for the past eleven years has been one of constant and intense suffering, patiently and quietly borne.
She joined the M.E. church at Salem when quite young. Although it was not her privilege to attend church in the last years of her life, she spent them partly in reading the Bible.
And when she realized that death was fast approaching she said to those at her bedside, "I can only suffer and pray, I am ready and willing to go."
