Born in Liverpool in 1838, Mrs. Hughes moved to America 36 years ago. Making Vicksburg their residence, Mr. and Mrs. Hughes reared a large family. Mr. Hughes died seven years ago. Three years ago Mrs. Hughes went to Virginia to spend some time with her daughter and it was there the end came.
Mrs. Hughes is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Butterworth, Mrs. William Spillings of 1821 Autumn Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee, and Mrs. J A. Aiston of Liverpool, and two sons, S. R.
