Son of Harrison and Eunice (Hawkins) Bacon of Illinois, he lost both of his parents when he was four years old. Husband of Nora (Updyke) Bacon, they came to Los Angeles in 1921. Clarence was an official with the Rock Island Pacific Railroad, and a member of the Elks Lodge, No. 90, Pueblo, Colorado.
