HERBERT N. COBAUGH 86, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Thursday June 22, 2006 at his farm in Bethel Township, Miami County, Ohio after a lengthy battle with pulmonary disease. He was born January 27, 1920 in Clark County, Ohio. He was the son of the late Frank & Ethel (Sigler) Cobaugh. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Neil Cobaugh (2001), a son-in-law Ronald E. Fulk (1986), a brother Robert Cobaugh, and a sister Esther (Cobaugh) Magee. He was proud to serve his country during World War II in the U.S. Army with a rank of Corporal, in Battery A 173rd Field Artillery Battalion from December 1942 to November 1945. Battles & campaigns included Naples, Italy – FOGGIA, Rome, Italy – ARNO, Northern France, PO Valley. He was also a member of the Brandt Evangelical Lutheran Church, Brandt, Ohio. He worked for Aero Products, in Vandalia, Ohio for 14 years, and then at Hilltop Concrete Corporation, Fairborn, Ohio until his retirement in 1985. He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Cora Mae (Oram) Cobaugh, which they would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary December 16th. He is also survived by a daughter Nancy (Cobaugh) Fulk, a son Nelson Cobaugh, granddaughters Greta Fulk and Amanda (Fulk) Grigsley and her husband Matthew, and a new great grandson Wyatt Matthew Grigsley, a very loving & caring sister Hazel (Cobaugh) Strickland, a brother-in-law Gene Lehman, and many loving nieces, nephews & cousins. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Monday June 26, 2006 at the TROSTEL-CHAPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 507 W. Jefferson St., New Carlisle, Ohio. Pastor Gill Krouse officiating. The family will receive family and friends two hours prior to service. Interment at New Carlisle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Brandt Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 6870 U.S. Route 40, Tipp City, Ohio 45371.
