Verna Lee Kyle Harvey, 84, of Hosford, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014 at her home. She was born March 10, 1930 in Hosford and lived there most of her life. She married Sidney Collins and they had four children. She graduated from Lively Technical School in 1946 and then went to work for the Department of Labor and retired in 1993 after 27 years of service. She loved her garden, running the river in a mullet boat, fishing, crabbing and scalloping. She enjoyed and loved every day that was given her. She attended Corinth Baptist Church in Hosford.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” Jasper and Ada Clark Kyle; two brothers, Vergil Kyle and Clyde Kyle; two sisters, Gaynell McKenzie and Dorothy Kever; one son, Randal Collins.

Survivors include her three children, Dale Collins and his wife, Linda of Lake Talquin, Sharon Pope and Michael Collins and his wife, Christine, all of Tallahassee; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Services will be held Sunday, Oct. 5 at 3 p.m. (ET) at Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown with Reverend Kyle Peddie officiating.
