Mrs. Edwin (Palma R.) Abbott, 85, Monroe, died Sunday, May 12, 1996 in The Monroe
Clinic. She was born Dec. 14, 1910 in Mount Pleasant township, Green County, the daughter of Matt and Marie (Becker) Wittenwyler. She attended Monticello Grade School.
She married Edwin M. Abbott Aug. 12, 1941 in the Zwingli United Church of Christ
parsonage in Monticello.

They farmed in Sylvester township until 1949 when they moved to Monroe.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin, at home, and a sister, Mrs. William (Helen) Lohse,
Acampo, CA.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harvey, Jacob and a brother in infancy; and
four sisters, Julia Zimmerman, Bernice Blumer, Clara Elmer-Wendt and Alwina Gempeler.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday in Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe. The Rev. R. C.
Hagen of the Washington Reformation Church, Monticello, will officiate. Burial is in Highland Cemetery, Monticello.
