Mrs. Reed was born in Rothsay, Ont. and came to Calgary in 1891, moving to Olds district in 1893, residing there until 1922 when she moved back to Calgary. She taught in Calgary public schools from 1922 until retiring in 1941. Mrs. Reed was a member of Crescent Heights United Church since 1922.

Also survived by two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband in 1915.
