MAVIS KAY *HEXIMER) CHITTY, 81, of Manvel passed away on July 31, 2016 in Pearland. Mavis was born on April 14, 1935 in Buffalo, New York to parents Kenneth and Georgina (Ringleb) Heximer. She married James Chitty in Colo, Iowa in February 14, 1957 and was happily married for many years until his passing. Mavis moved from Arkansas to Manvel six years ago and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness. She had many hobbies which included sewing, crocheting, and quilting. Being an artist at heart, she loved to paint pictures with oils and pastels. She was a very serious gardener and would spend many hours tending to her garden. Other times, she would be watching movies or working crossword puzzles or computer games. She loved spending time with her family and created many memories for them to cherish.

Mavis was preceded in death by her husband James; her parents; and her son William Chitty.

She is survived by her two children: James Chitty and wife Annette, and Sonja Jones and husband Karl; brothers and sisters: Kenneth Heximer and wife Becky, David Heximer and wife Martha, Ellen Blair, and George Heximer and wife Anita; grandchildren: James, Kenneth, Vicky, Dianna, DeboraJo, Danielle, Seth, Ean, Amaris, Diana, Karl Jr, and Emma; great grandchildren: Alana, Alexander, Zachery, Gabriel, and Gavin; many other family members and friends.
