He was a former constable of the Hoopa township and for many years was employed by the Fish and Wildlife department of the state in predatory animal control work. He was also active in community affairs, and, in late years, operated a hunter-guide service at Hoopa.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Beaver, and a daughter, Mrs. Marianne Anderson of Mountain View, and two grandchildren: George of Novato, and Charles of Los Gatos, and by three great-grandchildren: Steven, Jeffrey, and Jamie. He is survived also by two step-children, Mrs. Lucille Bruce and William Quimby, Jr., both of Hoopa, and three step-granddaughters: Alice Bruce, Grace Bruce Armstrong and Elizabeth Bruce, all of Hoopa. Brothers and sisters surviving are as follows: Chester Beaver of Tacoma, Wash.; Peter Beaver and Mrs. Elizabeth Marshall, both of Hoopa; and Mrs. Irene Thompsen of Klamath. Also by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the Hoopa Presbyterian church with the Rev. Leo K. Brown and the Rev. Frank Bibbins officiating. Burial will follow at Hoopa Cemetery. Paul's Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
