Muncie – Alice M. Stafford, 91, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Morrison Woods.

She was born on September 16, 1924 in Gaston, the daughter of Robert and Ruth Rinker. She graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1942. While at Muncie Central she was president of the Violet Club. She later attended Ball State Teachers College where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority.

Alice married Frank Stafford in 1944 at St. Mary Catholic Church, where she became a member. Alice worked as the manager of Muncie Community School Employee Federal Credit Union for many years. She was active in St Mary’s bible study, along with St. Mary’s Alter and Rosary Society. She also belonged to the Red Hat Society.

Survivors include her children, Dr. Tom Stafford (wife, Debbie) of Ft. Wayne, Sue (Stafford) Albano of Fishers, and Dr. Joe Stafford (wife, Joan) of Naples, Florida; also surviving are eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Alice was preceded in death by her loving husband of forty-nine years, Frank Stafford in 1994; and her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 5, 2016 in St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Andrew Dudzinski presiding. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Mary Church.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the administration and staff at Morrison Woods for all of their kindness, love, care, and support shown to Alice over the last three years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 West Jackson Street, Muncie, Indiana 47303.
