In Memorium.

Austin. - Hiram Austin died at his home six miles north of Burden, October 3rd, 1900 of fever.

Mr. Austin was born September 4th, 1828, in Rutland township, Tioga Co., Pa. He attained his education attending school in the winter seasons. He removed with his father to Illinois in 1847, and in January 1855 he was united in marriage to Laura Morse, to this union there were born eight children, six of which still survive him. Laura, his wife preceded him to the other world a number of years ago. He removed from Illinois to Kansas in the fall of 1886, and March 24th, 1890, was married to Amanda Gratton, and lived near Burden until his death. Mr. Austin was a member of the Masons Order and was buried by the Masonic Order of Burden. The funeral services were conducted at his residence by Rev. Wm. Davis.
