Vance F. "Steve" Ahlf, 60, of St. Louis, formerly of Effingham, died Monday (Nov. 20, 2006) at home.
Mr. Ahlf was born Oct. 25, 1946, in Effingham, a son of Vance J. and Mary Ann Ahlf. He married Pamela M. Moreen. She survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Suzanne Ahlf of St. Louis; a son, Michael Ahlf of St. Louis; his father of Champaign; three sisters, Ann Blanchfield of Park Hills, Mo., Linda Sepahirad of Urbana and Nancy Collins of Champaign; and two stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Mr. Ahlf was a member of First Unitarian Church and Amnesty International. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
