Inscription

Without question this is the most vexatious ancestor in my tree! Born a Stafford in 1868, she married, first, Harvey Rathbun in 1884, then George Dorn in 1889. A reference in an 1892 book on the Stafford family notes that Emma is the widow of George Dorn with one child, Iza B., yet Emma and daughter appear a year or two later in Saginaw with the Sweet name with no explanation how that name is arrived at. Based on many years of research into this specific family, there is no "Harvey Sweet" in Emma's life, the only Harvey being Rathbun. Check the 1900 US Census details for Emma and "her" Harvey. Emma provided all the information needed for an explanation of her life. For the record, her daughter, Iza Belle, is my paternal grandmother.
