William Vesper Jones, age 89, died Wednesday July 27, 2016 at the Medical Center at Scottsville.

The Allen county native was the son of the late James Milford Jones and Bertha Sadler Jones and preceded in death by nine siblings Luther, Jimmy, Brownie, Novice, Vera, Myrtle, Mabel, Mary and Adele.

He was a member of the Mt. Union United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School superintendent, Music Director and past Sunday School teacher. He was on the church administrative board, a past church delegate to the Louisville and Kentucky annual conference, treasurer for 62 years and participated in several church building committees. He served his community working for Allen County Health Department for over 44 years, and continued his affiliation as a member of the Kentucky Public Health Association and Board of Directors of the Allen County Health Department receiving the Russell E. Teague award, the highest honor in public health. He was member of the Scottsville Rotary Club where he was a past president and Paul Harris Fellow and Graham Lodge #208 F. & A. M. He was born into a family of music lovers and this love of music was a part of who he was until his death. He sang in multiple southern gospel quartets, as well as singing in many revivals and churches in the region.

He is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Clara Helen Reynolds Jones and two children who were the joy of his life, daughter Melanie Jones Kiene and son Martin Vesper Jones both of Scottsville and one sister Kate Cole of Russellville, KY. He was PaPa to his grandchildren, William Kiene, Stephen Kiene and Megan Jones. The love and admiration with his grandchildren was a mutual bond.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Saturday July 30, 2016 at the T. W. Crow & Son Funeral Home.

Masonic Service will be at 7:00 PM Saturday at the T. W. Crow & Son Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Sunday July 31, 2016 at the Mt. Union United Methodist Church with burial in the Mt. Union UMC cemetery
