Alexander "Alex" Leach
Ottawa-Alexander "Alex" Leach, 92, Ottawa, died Thursday, Jan. 3, at an Ottawa hospital.
Mr. Leach was a section hand for Santa Fe Railway from the 1930's until he retired in 1956. He formerly was a coal miner in Missouri.
He was born Aug. 25, 1892, at Sweet Spring, Mo., the son of Francis Marion and Alice Missouri Walker Leach. He lived in Norborne, Mo., most of his life and in Ottawa since November 1984.
Mr Leach was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Norborne, Mo.
His wife, Mrs. Eda Louise Basse Leach, died in February 1933.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Louise Leske, Yuma, Ariz.; two sons, James O. Leach, Ottawa, and William R. Leach, Sauk Village, Ill.; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne, Mo. Mr. Leach will lie in state from 4 p.m. today until 4 p.m. Sunday at Dengel and son Mortuary in Ottawa where the family will receive friends from 3 until 4 p.m. Sunday. He will lie in state from noon Monday until service time at Trinity Lutheran Church in Norborne.
