Addie Winkler

Addie L. Winkler, 77, a resident of Idaho County since 1945, died Wednesday, April 25 at the Grangeville Convalescent Center. She had been a patient there for a year and a half. She was the widow of Elmer Winkler, who died in 1971.

She was born at Hagler in southern Idaho, Jan. 14, 1907, to Elmer and Mary Chase. She married Ernest Taylor in 1924, and after his death, married Winkler.

Mrs. Winkler moved from Grangeville to Stites several years ago.

She is survived by five sons, Cecil Taylor of Elko, Nev., Delbert Taylor of Nampa, Elmer Taylor of Wheatland, Wyo., Albert Taylor of Fillmore, Utah, and Daniel Taylor of Reno, Nev.; four daughters, Martha Naccaraco of Spokane, Wilma Freeland of Reno, Mary Mays of Craigmont and Lorraine who lives in the Nampa but whose last name is not know; three brothers, Willis and Emmet Chase, both of Grangeville, and Maldon Chase of Winston, Ore.; eight sisters, Bernice Souck of Portland, Alice Reed of Mount Rose, Calif., Marge Jones of Fenn, Edith Whitby of Pasco, May Rhett of Lenore, Beth Williams of Portland and Hattie Gerber of Union, Ore.; 32 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers.

A graveside service was held Monday at the White Bird Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Wood, pastor of the Grangeville Christian Church, officiating. Noland Funeral Home was in charge of services.
