Mr. J. R. Hall, age 84, of Hall Road, Hampton, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at his residence.

Mr. Hall was born in Fayette County on September 8, 1920 to the late James Russell Hall and the late Sally Frances Hagan Hall. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Sara Janie Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Hall opened the Hall Grocery Store in Clayton County in the Panhandle area in 1946 and in 1971 they opened the Hall's Flying Ranch in the Panhandle area. Mr. Hall was a farmer and operated Hall Saw Mill for many years.

Mr. Hall is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Butch and Linda Hall of Fayetteville; daughter and son-in-law, Patty Keahey Mask and Donald Mask of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jimmy Hall, Connie Jones, Billy Hall, Joey Keahey, Jody Keahey, Jeff Keahey, and Michelle O'Kelley; great-grandchildren, Charley Hall, Stephen Duren, Michael Duren, Audrey Hall, Sara Hall, Emma O'Kelley, and Erin O'Kelley; sisters, Mildred Hallmark of Hampton, Eunice Cox of Jonesboro; brothers, Bob Hall of Griffin, and Buford Hall of Pike County; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. J. R. Hall will be conducted on Friday, July 15, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Cecil Dix will officiate. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
