Final Profession as a Benedictine Monk - November 30, 1940
Father Benno built churches and acted as a missionary on the Yankton Reservation as a deacon in the summer of 1941. As a priest he was assigned to the Yankton Reservation and visited people in the hospital, prison and the mental hospital. He was the Superior of Marty Mission for a short time in 1948. In September 1954, he was named the Rector of a beginning Minor Seminary for Blue Cloud Abbey students.
In 1956 he moved to the Turtle Mountain Reservation where he had a long term chaplaincy for the Benedictine Sisters of Queen of Peace Convent. He later became chaplain for the Benedictine Sisters at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre, SD. In 1980 her returned to Blue Cloud Abbey where he lived until his death.
