H.C. (Carl) Waddle, 83, of Rt. 2, Commerce, died at 8 p.m. Monday at Citizens General Hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 today in the Coker-Mathews-Peters Chapel with Rev. Gene Ackles and Rev. Tom Jones officiating. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery.

Mr. Waddle was born on March 16, 1895, in Jacobia, the son of John L. and Helen Rebecca Dodson Waddle. He married Edna Taylor on June 30, 1917, at Greenville. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Edna, of Greenville Nursing Home; three sons, Carl W. Waddle, Taft, Cleve B. Waddle, Denton, and Dr. B.A. Waddle, Fayetteville, Ark.; a brother, Roy Waddle, Greenville; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Cheek and Mrs. Stella Haun, both of Greenville, and Mrs. Vera Davis, Dallas; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by the Coker-Mathew-Peters Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ernest Moore, Bobby Pope, Roger Mills, Clyde Barnes, Lloyd Malone and John David Haun.
