Philip's older brother George was baptized in Lancaster Lutheran Church, PA, in 1730, Philip may have been born around Lancaster, PA but was probably born in now Madison County, VA on his father's 1735 land patent. The father George Teter died in now Madison County, VA 1744 and the family disappeared from records until they show up in 1750 in Rowan County, NC, later moving, about 1761, to Hinkel's Fort in the Germany Valley of Pendleton County, WV.
