Shirley Connor, 87, of Rock Springs, Wyoming passed away on Monday, November 30, 2015 at the Sage View Care Center where she had been a resident for the past two months. A long time resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Mrs. Connor died following a lengthy illness.

She was born on January 6, 1928, in Evanston, Wyoming, the daughter of the late Dee Alton Skinner and Edna Rauzi Skinner.

Mrs. Connor attended schools in Rock Springs and was a 1945 graduate of the Rock Springs High School. She attended and graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Denver, Colorado and had been employed at hospitals in Denver and Rock Springs. She later worked at Kimberly Manor Nursing Home in Rock Springs for twenty-eight years.

On May 1, 1954, she married Jack R. Connor and he preceded her in death on October 14, 1981.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community, PEO Chapter AE, Daughters of the Nile, and St. Christopher’s Circle.

Mrs. Connor enjoyed playing bridge, reading, working crossword puzzles and most of all spending time with her family.

She is survived by her two daughters Colleen Thomas and Cathy Ronick and husband Ron all of Rock Springs, Wyoming; three grandchildren Shaun Thomas and wife Jacqui, Ashley Potter and husband Jeremy and Brian Ronick; two great-grandchildren Bella Thomas and Jayce Potter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack and one grandson Michael Ronick.

Cremation will take place, and private family services will be held.

The family of Shirley Connor will be receiving relatives and friends at the home of her daughter 2303 Mountain Road, Rock Springs, Wyoming.

The family of Shirley Connor respectfully suggests that donations in her memory be made to the Charity of Your Choice.
