Elder John Arnold, living a few miles east of here, died Thursday after an illness of seven weeks. Deceased was 49 years of age and had been for a number of years a minister of the gospel in the Baptist church. Lung trouble was the cause of his death. Funeral services were conducted by Elder Fitzjarrell. Elder Atteberry offered the closing remarks. He leaves a wife, eight children and a host of friends to mourn his departure. His body was interred at the Land cemetery on Friday last.
