Thomas Edward Ackland was born November 4, 1923, at rural Grafton, and passed away at his home in Grafton on July 23, 2016, at the age of 92 years, eight months, and 19 days.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy Ackland; great-grandchildren, Chandler Berglund, Tarson Ackland and Braxton Ackland.
Tom is survived by his sons, Allen and Melodee Ackland, and Lenny and Judy Ackland; daughters, Kathy Ackland, and Carol Oliver; grandchildren Cathleen Berglund, Michael Ackland, Allen E. Ackland, Shane Oliver, Roxanne Lott, Tracey Gowen, Daniel Ackland, Erin Van Roekel, Jason Ackland and 17 great-grandchildren.
Private family graveside services for Tom were held on July 27, at the Grafton Public Cemetery. Chaplain Aaron Phillips officiated the services.
Pallbearers for the service included Michael Ackland, Allen Ackland, Jr., Shane Oliver, Daniel Ackland, Jason Ackland, Bruce Berglund, Jeff Lott, Jason Gowen and Josh Van Roekel.
Honorary bearers included Cathleen Berglund, Roxanne Lott, Tracey Gowen, and Erin Van Roekel.
