Mrs. Collett

Mrs. Nell Jo Collett, 56, 1312 Case Ave., Attalla, died Monday in a local hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Herman Cobb and the Rev. Jimmy Bailey officiating.

Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.

Survivors: husband, Aaron D. Collett; daughter, Mrs. Billie Jo Basson; son-in-law, Ernest E. Basson, both of Attalla; sisters, Mrs. Lorene Livingston, Gallant, Mrs. Marie Coffey, Attalla; brothers, Leroy C. Arnold, Junior and Ottis Arledge; mother, Mrs. Lena E. Arledge; granddaughters, Angela Leigh and Tora Basson, all of Attalla.

Active pallbearers: nephews, David and James Arnold Arledge, James, Jack and Billy Wayne Livingston, Ronald F. Clardy.

Mrs. Collett was a member of Cherry Street Baptist Church for 29 years and past director of the WMU. She was a former Sunday School Teacher, a member and past president of American Business Women's Association and was selected Woman of the Year 1980-81.

The body will remain at the funeral home through the hour of service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 this evening.

Mrs. Arledge

Mrs. Lena Estelle (Humphrey) Arledge, 89, Attalla Rt. 1, died Saturday at a local hospital after a long illness.

Survivors: daughters, Marie Coffey, Lorene Livingston; sons, the Rev. O.F. Arnold and O.J. Arledge, all of Attalla. Morgan Funeral Home of Attalla in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services were to be today at 2 p.m. at Ivalee Baptist Church with the Revs. Thomas Poole and Jimmie Bailey officiating.

Burial in Red Hill Cemetery.

Other survivors: sons-in-law, Bob Coffey, Aaron Collett; daughters-in-law, Mildred, Mavis and Mildred Arledge; 30 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Arledge was a native of Georgia and a resident of Etowah County most of her life. She was a member of Ivalee Baptist Church.

Mrs. Arledge was preceded in death by her husband, O.B. Arledge.
