She was a native of Ware County, but she lived most of her life in Jacksonville, FL before moving back to Waycross in 2004. She was formerly employed as a bookkeeper for natural gas companies and Adeebs Restaurants.
She is the daughter of the late Claude Cox and Bertie Thrift Cox. She is the wife of the late William M. Poarch.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Nelson (Tommy) and Margaret Crum (David) both of Jacksonville, FL; two grandchildren, Tamara Nelson Perry (James) and Dustin Crum; two sisters, Sue Cox Griffin (Frank) and Jeane Cox Harrell both of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday (July 26, 2016) at Edgewood Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday at Music Funeral Home.
