THE LATE CHARLES FULTON; BASS RIVER, COL. CO.
When the news from the Truro Hospital of the decease of Mr. Charles Fulton reached Bass River, it cast a gloom over the whole community. He was a genial kindly dispositioned man, loved by all. As an Elder in the Church, and Sunday School teacher, he was most efficient, being well informed and of mature judgment.
Needless to say the obsequies were attended by a large and representative gathering of people from in and around Bass River. When the hour for the service in Church arrived, the sacred edifice was filled with sympathetic audience.
The Rev. Murdoch Gillespie, of Great Village, had charge of the services. After an earnest and touching prayer from Rev. Mr. Lock, who was a personal friend of the deceased, Rev. Mr. Gillespie feelingly addressed the people and mourners for the words, “The hour is coming when all that are in the grave shall hear His voice and come forth, they that have done good unto the resurrection of life, and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.” The latter part of the text did not apply to the deceased. The restored body would be first, Glorious; secondly Immortal; and thirdly, Powerful.” The message carried in it the “healing balm of Gilead.”
The deceased leaves a widow, two sons and three daughters, who have the genuine sympathy of the entire community.

THE LATE CHARLES E. FULTON, ELDER
Bass River has suffered a severe loss through the departure through death of Mr. Charles E. Fulton, an elder and active worker in the Church. He was a man of outstanding personality, and his genial presence was a ray of sunshine wherever he went. Bordering on 68 years of age, yet the dew of youth was upon his spirit. This is evidenced from the fact that he was an active member of the Church Choir up to the last – an old veteran of song. He was also an active member of Y.P.S.C.E.
As a teacher of the young mens bible class, he gave splendid service through the years; and the influence of his work will long remain. He was an able and lucid speaker and his voice and presence will be greatly missed from the church services as well as on the public platform. He was a good man and true. He lived a great life. For surely to live as he did, leaving so great a gap behind him, and so difficult to fill, is to have lived a great life. Death followed an operation for some internal trouble at the Victoria Hospital, Halifax. He leaves behind his widow, three sons – one in France – three daughters and a host of friends to mourn his loss. Farewell! Dear friend! Thy life and work have not been in vain, we shall meet again “in the morning”. - J.C.D. - Presbyterian Witness.
