A very dear childhood friend. He and his brother Clifford Eugene Hulme were my best friends during our earliest years. His father Mansford Allen (Tex) and mine were the best of friends, and his mother Mary Elizabeth Barnes (and later stepmother) Lorraine Landry were both friends with my mother.
Little David, struck by an automobile, was killed instantly.
His short life of only eight years was nonetheless one of love and fun, for he was the sweetest little boy I ever knew. I will never forget him. I only recently located his grave in Winnie, Texas, and he is surrounded by grandparents and uncles and aunts. His dad and stepmother are buried in Louisiana. His only sister, Sandra, lives in Pasadena, TX. His brother, Gino Hulme, born 7/27/46 passed away 7/20/18, one week shy of his 72nd birthday, in Tacoma, Washington. The family was so close to us during our growing up years that they truly seemed like relatives.
Rest sweetly, dear David, my little friend. My only memory of you is when we all discovered the great joy of jumping on your bed, probably on this Easter Sunday of 1950.
