Beatrice Ellen Sires, 96, passed from this life at 3:30pm on Thursday, July 21, 2016, in Dewey.

Bea, as she was affectionately known, was born on March 2, 1920, in Pershing, OK, the daughter of James Thomas and Mary Ethel (Hays) Dean. At an early age the family moved to Webb City where she attended school. Bea met the love of her life and was united in marriage with James Sires on November 15, 1938, in Nowata, OK. James worked in the oil business and the family moved all over following the work. Bea excelled as a homemaker and a mother - Joe when asked to describe his mother, “she was the best mom in the world.” Once James retired they settled in Shidler, OK, and after he preceded her in death 1989, Bea moved to Bartlesville to be near her family.

Some would say that James’s passions in life Camping and fishing became Bea’s, as well. Together they camped all over and enjoyed many memorable trips to Colorado and Grand Lake. For many years they were the gatekeepers at Kaw Lake campgrounds near Ponca City where many memorable fish fries were held with the fish caught by James and Bea. Quilting, sewing and cooking may have been her true passions in life and she shared her talents, giving many of her beautiful quilts to those near and dear to her heart. Bea loved the Lord and attended the Dewey Church of the Nazarene until her health declined.

Bea is survived by her two sons, Joe Sires and wife Tracy of Bartlesville, and James Sires, also of Bartlesville; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son Leon “Sonny” Sires, one daughter Patsy (Sires) Smith, one grandson Tarry Smith, and all of her siblings.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12-5 pm and Sunday 12-5 pm at the Davis Family Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held 10 am on Monday, July 25, at the Dewey Cemetery, with Rev. Dave Compston of Bartlesville Westside Baptist Church officiating. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared with Bea’s family at www.davisfamilyfuneralhome.com.
