Ellen Glee Scheele passed away peacefully on July 25, 2015 at Balfour hospice in Lafayette, CO. Ellen was born in Denver, CO on June 8, 1929 to Charles Verner and Vivian Glee (Goodenberger) Litherland. She graduated from Colorado Women's College in 1949 with a degree in Music. In 1950 she married Paul Scheele and together they established a home and raised five children in Boulder, CO. Throughout her life Ellen was active in community service including leading Bible studies, Camp Fire Girls and Cub Scouts. She was very active at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church as church organist and involved with Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and LWML.

Ellen is survived by her husband, Paul Frederick Scheele; children Shireen Ranschau of Sioux Falls, SD, Pete Scheele (Glenda) of Bailey,CO, Debbie Duggan (Duane) of Boulder CO., and Sandra Bateman (Christopher) of Elbert, CO; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her son, David Paul Scheele and sister, Gwendolyn Ailene Higgins.

A memorial service will be held at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church, Boulder, CO on Wednesday, July 29th at 7:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mt. Hope Lutheran Church, Boulder, CO or Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO.
