Kenneth Wayne Fannin, 85, of Cullman passed away July 18, 2016, at Hanceville Nursing Home and Rehab, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born Feb. 23, 1931, in Spruce Pine, Ala.

He was a graduate of Central High School, Manchester, Tenn., and was an avid poet, photographer and writer.

He was married to Carol Williams Fannin for 57 years and was a member of Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church at Providence, where he served as deacon and church clerk for many years.

His passion was church, singing and spending time with family.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. July 20, at Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church on Eva Road in Cullman.

Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Elder David Guttery will be officiating, with graveside services at Providence Cemetery.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Fannin is survived by his wife, Carol Williams Fannin; his children, Mary Fannin Holcombe of Cullman, Susan Fannin Allred (Greg) of Hanceville, Laura Fannin Hale (Anthony) of Vinemont, Aubrey Fannin (Neita) of Huntsville; grandchildren, Jennifer Allred Lee (Joseph), Seth Allred, Rachel Allred Pirkey (Bryan), Caleb Allred, William Allred, Zachary Allred, Ryan Hale, Adam Hale (Allison), Emily Holcombe McCluskey (Cody), Christina Holcombe and Chloe Fannin; four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Colonel Franklin Fannin, and Nancy Lougaina Adams Fannin; 14 siblings; and a grandchild, April Hosanna Allred.

The family would like to offer sincere gratitude to the caregivers at Hanceville Nursing Home, Southern Care Hospice, and Cullman Regional Medical Center, for their expert care and dedication shown to our daddy during his last days.
