Mildred C. Kruckenberg Lawrenz, 94, of East
Moline, formerly of Port Byron, died
Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Park Vista
in East Moline.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on
Saturday, April 16, at Bethel Baptist
Church, Port Byron. Visitation will be
Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Gibson-Bode
Funeral Home, Port Byron. Burial will
be at Friedens Cemetery, rural Port Byron.
Memorials may be made to the Mission's
Fund of Bethel Baptist Church.

Mildred was born Sept. 14, 1921, in
Andalusia Township, the daughter of
August and Clara Hofstetter Guldenpfennig.
She married Robert Kruckenberg on April
25, 1943, in Moline. He preceded her in
death on April 22, 1971. She was a homemaker
and helped Robert with their farm in rural
Port Byron. She married Claire Lawrenz on
March 3, 1980, in Port Byron. He preceded
her in death on April 16, 1995.

Mildred was a member of Bethel Baptist
Church, where she served as a deaconess
for many years and was a member of Bethel's
sewing and quilting club. She was a member
of the Pleasant Point Mothers Club. She
enjoyed spending time with her family,
quilting and gardening. She had plants
all over in her house.

She is survived by her four children,
Judy (Larry) Pearsall, Muscatine, Iowa,
Roberta Jean Holden, Omaha, Neb., Michael
(Debbie) Kruckenberg, Clinton, Iowa, Mark
(Kathy) Kruckenberg, Port Byron;
grandchildren, Carrie (Miguel) Gonzales,
Todd Pearsall, Clay Holden, Thomas
Kruckenberg, Jonathan Kruckenberg, Adam
Kruckenberg, Andrew (Maria) Kruckenberg,
Robin (John) Young and Austin Kruckenberg.
Also surviving are four great-grandchildren,
Miranda Gonzales, Cassandra Gonzales,
James Robert Gonzales, Ruby Pearsall, with
her second great-grandson, Noah Kruckenberg,
due in July.

She was preceded in death by her parents;
two husbands, Robert Kruckenberg and
Claire Lawrenz; 10 siblings; an infant son,
Robert James; and granddaughter, Linsey
Rose Kruckenberg.
