Ray E. Bacon, 79, of Felton, died Wednesday at his home, after a lengthy illness.


He was the husband of the late Muriel M. (Beck) Bacon.


The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Burg Funeral Home Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion.


Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, with full military rites by Stewartstown Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7046 and Red Lion American Legion Post 455.


A viewing will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, with Masonic rites at 9:45 a.m., at the funeral home.


Mr. Bacon was born on April 12, 1920, at 111 Chanceford Township.


He was the son of the late Janies and Bertha (Shortledge) Bacon.


He was the retired owner and operator of Bacon Jewelry Store in Stewartstown.


He was also a retired farmer. He was a member of Stewartstown Presbyterian Church, Red Lion American Legion Post 543, Stewartstown Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7046, Red Lion Masonic Lodge, Harrisburg Consistory, where he was a 32nd-degree Mason, and Tall Cedars of Lebanon 30 of York and Zenibo Temple Shrine.


He was a US Army veteran of WW II.


Mr. Bacon is survived by two sons, a daughter, of Stewartstown; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and two sisters.
