John T Currens, of Franklin township near Orrtanna, died at his home Saturday evening at 6:30 after a lingering illness of cancer. He was aged 70 years, 1 month and 19 days.
Mr. Currens was a farmer of Franklin township for the past fifteen years and prior to that time taught school in the county for twenty-five years.
He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Alice King, and one daughter, Mrs. Mervin Herring, four grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Jacob Naugle, Gettysburg.
The funeral Tuesday morning with services at the home at 9:30 conducted by Rev. Paul R Pontrus. Interment at Fairfield.
