Betty Daws Baier, 86 of St. Albans died July 7, 2016 of complications of Parkinson's disease.

She was born in Sioux City, Iowa on April 3, 1930, the daughter of James Lyle Daws and Vera Wimmer Daws. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Lyle Daws, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Richard G. Baier of St. Albans; her daughter, Leslie Reeder (Mark) of Washington, WV; her son, Douglas Baier (Lynn) of Akron, OH; four grandchildren, one great grandson.

She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School (1947), attended WV Wesleyan College and graduated in 1952 from University of Cincinnati College of Nursing and Health with a B.S. degree in nursing.

As a long-time member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, she served in the Women's Organization, served as a children's teacher in the Sunday school and sang in the choir. She also was a Girl Scout leader for many years.

There will not be any visitation.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 16, 2016 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, St. Albans.
