He attended First United Methodist Church for over 65 years where he was active in Sunday School. He focused much of his time on prayer and reading the Bible. He was active in the YMCA and supportive of his sons during sports, high school and beyond.
He was married to Jean Nash Fuqua more than 52 years. She preceded him in death in 1999. They enjoyed traveling and camping. He and Jean toured much of the United States pulling campers and later motor homes. They traveled to 32 states.
Burial in Henry Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry (Kathy) Fuqua of Olive Branch, Miss.and Larry ( Sherry) Fuqua of Corinth; four granddaughters, Kyra (Jay) Cossey, Kimberly (Brad) Campbell, Kelley (Chris) Richardson and Ashley Creason.
Memorial may be made to Special Fund, First United Methodist Church, 901 North Fillmore St. Corinth, MS 38834.
