Coatsburg, Ill., April , 29.—One of Coatsburg's old citizens, George Meyer, better known to many people of this community and the surrounding country as "Dad'' Meyer, died yesterday morning at 8:20 o'clock death coming as the result of a complication of diseases after an illness of a month's duration. Mr. Meyer was born May 26, 1830, in Hanover, Germany, where also he was married on May 10,1852, to Miss Wilhelmina Becker. To this union there, were born two children. The mother died in 1854,and in the same year Mr. Meyer left the Fatherland and came to America. Here he was married in 1856 to Miss Eliza Ormben, and this union was blessed with eleven children. The second Mrs. Meyer died in 1903 and in 1906 Mr. Meyer was united; in marriage to Eliza Candogan, who survives him, as do the following children: Mrs. L. Brown, of California; Mrs. Knuffman of Quincy; Miss. Anna Meyer, of Kansas City; * Mrs. F. Leach, of Coatsburg, and William Meyer of Kansas City.
