Lillian E. am Ende, 80, of Bloomington, died Tuesday at Bloomington Hospital.

Born May 19, 1917, in South Haven, Minn., she was the daughter of Lars J. and Anna M. (Oslund) Johnson.

She was a retired inventory management specialist for the Department of the Army at Rock Island Arsenal in Rock Island, Ill.

She had done volunteer work and data entry work for Shelter Inc., the Waldron Arts Center, Bloomington Pops Orchestra, Evergreen Project, Older Americans Center, Area 10 Agency on Aging's RSVP Program, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Bloomington Police Department.

She was the recipient of the J.C. Penny Golden Rule Award in 1996 and the RSVP Statewide Volunteer of the Year Award in 1993.

Survivors include two daughters, Louise O'Connor of Bloomington and Barbara am Ende of Gaithersburg, Md.; one son, Jerry am Ende of Wilmington, Del.; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at St. Thomas Lutheran Church with Pastor Lowell Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Clear Creek Cemetery.

Friends may call 4-7 p.m. today at Allen Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
